Choosing the right venue that will fit your needs and satisfy your
vision of your ideal location for your wedding can be a difficult task.
From resorts, to country clubs, hotels, and private venues or halls,
there are many options to think about & choose from. Some venues
may be too big, while others are too small. Some can provide just about
everything you need, while others just rent out a room.

The first thing to consider is, do you want an outdoor or indoor wedding?
Here in Arizona many Brides like the idea of an outdoor ceremony with
an indoor reception if a church ceremony is not in the plans. Today
more ceremonies are held at the same location as the reception. For
several reasons, more convenient, less time, and less money. A ceremony
that is far from the reception can cause problems. Your guests could get
lost or get stuck in traffic and skip the reception all together.

Hotels and resorts can book multiple weddings during the busiest time of
year. There can be several weddings happening the same time yours is
in progress. Your guests may get confused on which wedding is yours.
In some cases your reception could have a time restriction if the resort
booked two receptions for the same room on the same day. Also keep
in mind most all towns in or around the Phoenix metro area have a sound
ordinance of 10:00pm. If your reception is outdoors all amplified music
needs to be cut off by 10:00.

Always check out the scenery outside and around the venue, while some
places look beautiful inside, the outside area can be limited for photo
opportunities. You may have to leave the area just to get those amazing
sunset pictures.

Other items to consider;
The number of guests the room can comfortably hold. Be sure there is
enough room for dancing, buffet table, gift & cake table etc..
Check to see if there is enough parking, and if the venue offers valet
parking too.
Find out if there is ample electrical power for DJ’s or bands, including
power at the ceremony site.
Does the venue have a back up plan for bad weather?
Does the venue allow outside vendors?
Will the venue provide an on-site coordinator?
What are the time restrictions, and do they allow overtime?
How early can vendors arrive to set up?
Can you provide your own alcohol? or is it in-house only?
Do they offer a bridal suite?
